in one week I had stopped breathing for a shortwhile followed by couphing up blood. The 3rd time was particularly bad as I had difficulty in breathing and was couping up huge amounts of blood and throwing up. I was also dehydrated. My husband rushed me to Busamed Hillcrest emergencies. I was apparantly covered for all of the above symptoms as emergency with Dischem Health. The emergencies informed us that they tried to get pre-authorization and this was declined and we had to pay cash. When challenging Dischem, they denied that any pre-authorisation was attempted and requested proof. When approaching the Busamed Hospital, they claimed that this was not considered and emergeny and denied providing proof of them obtaining pre-authorisation. Does one have to completely stop breathing before this is considered to be an emergency. I feel that this hospital is not taking the patients best health to heart and are neglegent in their approach.
