As mentioned in other feedback, their technical support is non-existent, They dont respond to emails in the slightest. Father in law lost his password for his DVR and the only way to reset the password is by sending a downloaded file from the DVR, then Hikvision is supposed to take that and respond with another file which is then sent to the DVR to change the password. Good luck getting any type of response from them. I myself have 2x Hikvision DVR systems, now I regret ever getting them now knowing that if anything goes wrong I will be on my own. Thanks

RE: RE: DS-2CFSP4/4G-Case No.7009708 My 1st email: Good day, Where can I find the APN settings for this camera? The camera is also advertised to support FTP upload but there is also no settings to authenticate on an FTP server. Their Response 1: Kindly follow the below step-by-step guide to configure APN settings on your DS-2CFSP4/4G camera: How to Manually Enter APN Settings If the camera doesn't connect automatically, you must access its web interface for manual configuration. 1. Connect to the camera's local network. The camera might broadcast its own temporary Wi-Fi network (often named "MiFi" or starting with "HIKVISION_") which you can connect to with a default password like 1234567890. Alternatively, if the camera is on a local wired network, you can connect your PC to the same network. 2. Access the web interface.Open a web browser on your connected device and enter the camera's IP address. A common default IP address for Hikvision cameras is 192.168.1.64 (or sometimes 192.0.0.64), but for 4G models when connected to its temporary Wi-Fi, the address is often 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.0.1. 3. Log in. Use the default username admin and the password you created during initial activation (for newer models) or the older default 12345. 4. Navigate to Network Settings.Go to the Configurationmenu, then Network, and look for a section likeAdvanced Settings orAPN. 5. Enter details manually. • Select theManual option for APN configuration. • TapAdd New and enter the exact APN, username, and password provided by your network operator. • TapApply or Save to confirm the settings. The camera should then attempt to connect to the 4G network using the provided details. Check the device status to ensure it is online. My 2nd email: Good morning, Thank you for this but remember this is not a wifi camera nor does it come with a network port. I will however check if a wifi network is broadcasted. You also never answered my question regarding the ftp functionality that is advertised but nowhere to be found. Their Response 2: Kindly be advised, the FTP server authentication settings on the Hikvision DS-2CFSP4/4G camera are located within the network configuration menu of the camera's web interface. Accessing FTP Settings Log in to the camera's web interface: Access the camera's web GUI by entering its IP address into a web browser on a computer connected to the same network. You can find the IP address using a tool like the manufacturer's SADP software or by checking your router's connected devices list. 1. Navigate to the Configuration Menu: Once logged in with your credentials (username and password), find and select the Configuration tab or menu option. 2. Locate Network Settings: Within the Configuration menu, look for Network and click on it. 3. Find Advanced Settings: In the Network section, you should see an option for Advanced Settings. Click on this. 4. Enter the FTP Interface: The FTP settings interface will be an option within the Advanced Settings menu. Configuring Authentication In the FTP settings interface, you will find fields to input the necessary authentication information for your FTP server: • FTP address/server address: The IP address or domain name of your FTP server. • Port: The port number used by the FTP service (default is typically 21). • Username: The username required to log in to the FTP server. • Password: The corresponding password for the username. After entering these details, ensure you configure the Linkage Method in the camera's event settings (e.g., motion detection) to Upload to FTP for the camera to start sending data. If you still cannot locate these settings, it is recommended to: • Update the camera's firmware: Check for the latest firmware package on the official Hikvision website and update your device for the best user experience and features. • Consult the official manual: Refer to the detailed configuration steps in the most current user manual available on the Hikvision Global product support page. My last email: Hallo, this is extremely frustrating as it seems that you have absolutely no knowledge of the product. Again I will say this to you. This is a 4G Camera, it does not have a network port and it also does not emit a wifi hotspot. Don’t you understand this or are you replying from a script with keywords. I might as well be speaking to a wall. It is very obvious that there responses are scripted as per keywords or the person that was responding does not have a clue about this product.

Pathetic after sales service. I bought 5 Hikvision Ax pro outdoor pir sensors and spent about 60k on the alarm system only to see all pir l3nses crumble after few months. I tried to get replacements from the supplier. The supplier referred me to Hikvision headquarters. It is now the 200th email I've sent and 300th call. Hikvision is not recommended. Rather buy Ajax alarm system.

I enquired from Hikvision SA regarding a hardwire kit for the C200S camera and an extention for the system rearview camera as the one I received is to short. I only got links where I much search. nothing else. Somebody of a competition warned me about Hikvision SA. Pathetic.

I had a very positive experience dealing with HikVision technical support, I think the agent name was Teddy/Terry. He was patient, professional and understood what needed to be done to delink my device from the previous owner and register it under my name. He even offered to call me back when I notified him that I was running out of airtime. Mind you we had to use my old laptop which is very slowly but he was patient until we eventually won and finished the process. This is what customer service should be like. Kudos!!!!

What a disappointment. I tried calling Hikvision in Bramley, Johannesburg. All the attempts were not successful, I simply got "the subscriber you are calling is not available " So I sent someone to the office of Hikvision to have a DVR tested. the receptionist basically told us to go away and start by calling the helpdesk to check the serial number for warranty. She also insisted that the unit should go to the dealer where the unit was bought. The challenge here is that I have no idea where the unit was bought as it is a new customer for me and he obviously does not know where the unit was bought.
