My car was involved in an accident, unfortunately I was not around at the time it happened. The person who was driving my car was unaware that my car should be towed through an authorised towing company. The towtruck driver told my friend that if they attemt to drive the car the airbags would deplode as the vehical was "supposedly hit on the airbag sensor area". That was of course a lie, as the car was completely drivable, basically just the mirror damaged and a slight bump on the drivers side. Long story short, my friend let them take the car less than 2km's down the road to a dodgy s**** metal yard in Retreat (opposite Nortons Panelbeaters). In order for me to valuate the car (which "apparently" needed to be lifted-I had to pay the full release fees. It was a nightmare, they gave R1000 off but it is daylight robbery. It happened in December, I battled to get hold of that kind of money...the owner of the Towing company said that the Panelbeater accross the road would pay it for me and I could pay them back???? That sounded fishy to me...anyways long story short...they are VULTURES!! I am now R6200 out of pocket.
