I bought frozen butter fish yesterday on the 11th of May 2026 around 17:20, when i got home around 18:30, i fried the fish only to find out that they are spoiled after taking a bit. They had a dark brown color. When i checked the expiry date they expired a month ago. I am truly disappointed in this store... Thier expiry dates are always so close

North gate store. Second time ordering from the place. They seem to have an issue with delivery. Placed an order on Sunday for delivery on Tuesday, and no delivery and no communication from the store. Soweto is not prioritised. Called in to ask about my order and they said that the driver will only come deliver in Soweto last because he lives here 😒. I'm not happy with the service.

Today at around 17:55 I visited Eco Newmarket. As I walked into the store, I slipped on the leather rug placed at the entrance and fell straight onto my face. I injured my knees and was in obvious pain. What disappointed me the most was that not a single employee came to check if I was okay. The only person who helped me up was another customer who happened to be nearby. The staff present continued with their work as if nothing had happened. This experience makes me feel like Eco Newmarket does not care about the safety or wellbeing of its customers. I am still in pain and very disappointed with how this situation was handled. I request that management check the store’s CCTV footage around 17:55 today to see exactly what happened at the entrance. After this experience, I will think twice before shopping here again.

I placed an order on Econo Foods’ online shop (Order #196823, 6 Feb 2026) expecting delivery, because the website/map shows a delivery radius for the Fourways store (Waterford Shopping Centre). After placing the order, I was told it’s “Client to Collect” — which is not what the delivery map/radius suggests. I then called numerous times trying to get help. I kept getting promises that someone would come back to me, but nothing happened. To make it worse, trying to get a refund has been a nightmare. No clear process, no urgency, and no proper feedback. If the store does not deliver, then don’t show a delivery radius that implies it does. This is misleading and wastes customers’ time. What I want: Immediate confirmation of whether this order will be delivered or not If not delivered, a full refund processed immediately The website delivery radius/map needs to be corrected so this doesn’t happen to other people I’ll update this review if Econo Foods resolves it properly.

We bought a 5 litre Neapolitan ice cream this week at the branch in Mall @ Carnival. To our surprise when opened at home the ice cream is in deplorable state, the tone of the pink, white and brown looks very artificial. It looks like a mess. I’ve never seen Neapolitan flavour that looks like this. We had to throw it away as no one would each such. Very disappointed.
