If you are thinking about renting here DONT!! You can forget about having access to hot water let alone water itself and electricity. You can go up to a week with the bare necessities that youll be already paying for. This property does not have any back for its tenants whatsoever. I live at Ashanti Apartments in Ferreirasdorp. Ever since moving in there has been an issue with hot water. The past two months have been worse we have had no hot running water. The amount of excuses we have heard from the building managers and security is all hogwash and infinite doesn't seem to be doing anything about it. My lease is coming to an end and in all honesty this is the reason why would not renew because you pay rent and don't receive a basic human need which is hot water. Having to boil water everyday is spilling over into my electricity and this is just not sustainable. Not to mention that it is freezing outside you'd think they would fix the issue more especially now. This place honestly doesn't care about the up keep of this building. I could mention many other things but the cold water is my biggest frustration!

On the rare occasion that we need assistance with our rental property, our agent thinks he is “helping” us and never fulfills his responsibilities. We’ve been unsuccessful in getting a meeting with his superior, because she too, thinks she is doing us a favor. When did agents becomes ”HELPERS” to paying clients?? If they “do not have mandate to manage the landlords property”, as she stipulated, what is their purpose at all and why do they collect my rent?

Dogon are the most useless, lazy and arrogant agent ive ever dealt with. They care only about their commission and not about landlord or tenant. I was interested in a bungalow on 4th beach at the front for 90k. (no. 52 from memory) it took me two weeks and dozens of calls and emails to get an appointment with the agent Rene’ When I finally got an appointment to see it and came to Cape Town and stayed overnight for the viewing the next day the agent cancelled 55 minutes before the viewing blaming the owner saying she was unwell and couldnt open up. To be frank I don’t believe that was true. From what I could gather the agent was at a work function the previous day when I gave her a call… and we know what happens at work functions. Rather than ass the vieiwng to a colleague they are so commission hungry at Dogon she offered to do the viewing the next week,.. so anther delay Again, I had to chase and chase to get an appointment. When I finally got a viewing the Monday after I again messaged her first asking about “What happened to our viewing?” She said on turned up she was showing another prospective tenants at 14:00 if I could view at the same time.. very unprofessional. It put both of us off. She didn’t have the answers to any questions and seemed completely disinterested. She even said theyd found a tenant but one of the guys at the office didn’t like him so theyd voted his application purely on that basis. My experience of Dogon is that they think themselves so important and above client and tenant that they simply don’t care and don’t make an effort If I owned that property and new the truth id be furious. Were it not for the agent id have taken the property.

When I was looking for a rental property in Cape Town, I contacted Patsy Fivelman who does rentals in the Southern Suburbs. She listened to my needs and contacted me a few days later when she found a property that met them. She has been helpful beyond the time the keys were handed over: Knowing I'm new to Cape Town she's helped information about the area (even giving me her doctor's details when I got flu) .

I bought an apartment from Dogon Group Properties almost 2 years ago. The adverti*****t said it had magnificent views and was in the heart of Fresnaye. The views are appalling - the apartment overlooks corroding roof tops, air conditioning units, barbed wire fencing, walls with skull and cross bone, washing on other buildings balconies. I paid R3,250,000 for a tiny apartment because I thought that Dogon was an upmarket estate agent who would look after my interests. I am appalled and want to warn prospective buyers about buying a new property development. My advise is - send up a drone if you can. Make sure that what you are buying is as advertised. I will NEVER deal with this company again!

When i rented with them i paid for 12 months upfront including deposit and when my rental period ended, i was rushed to move out as if someone was going to move in. It has been more than a month since i moved out and the agent is failing to payback my deposit. The property is still empty , the agent is no longer taking my calls and not responding to my messages.
