Checkers Brentwood rotten meat
On 30 March 2026 at 14h30 Went to checkers at Brentwood shopping centre, to buy meat for dinner, when a rotting meat smell met me at the butchery section where all the prepared and packed cuts of meat are. Turned around as the smell was awful. Please if there is a butchery manager get your meat section sorted. People Wil get seriously ill from eating your meat

Checkers Brentwood rotten meat
On 30 March 2026 at 14h30 Went to checkers at Brentwood shopping centre, to buy meat for dinner, when a rotting meat smell met me at the butchery section where all the prepared and packed cuts of meat are. Rotten meat issues
This is the second night in a row that we bought meat from Checkers Brentwood park and it is rotten. We went back last night to go and exchange the pork that we bought because it was also rotten. It is so bad that even the manager doesn’t want to smell it. They are aware that the meat is rotten because the fridges was out of order. But they still put the meat out for people to purchase. This is a health risk for the community, people can die of this issue. There needs to be a health inspector sent out to go and shut and this place down.

Rotten meat issues

Ongoing Food Safety Issues at Checkers Brentwood Park – Spoiled Food Sold Repeatedly
I am extremely concerned about the repeated sale of spoiled food from Checkers Brentwood Park. On Saturday, 7 February 2026, my partner and I did a grocery shop at this branch, spending almost R1100. This is the closest Checkers to us, which is why we continue shopping here, but the food quality issues have become a serious and ongoing problem. On Monday, 9 February 2026, we opened a sealed box of Smash Burgers purchased during that shop and found visible mold inside the packaging. The box had not been opened or tampered with in any way. This is not an isolated incident. In the past few months, I have had at least five bad experiences at this store. Four out of five times, we have taken home products that were already spoiled when opened, even though they were still within the best-before dates. Just two weeks ago, we had to call the store manager to assist with replacing Lancewood cheese that was already off when opened. These repeated incidents point to serious problems with food storage, refrigeration, or stock management at this branch. Selling spoiled food is a major health risk and completely unacceptable from a national retailer. I am requesting urgent intervention and a full investigation into this store’s food handling practices. Customers should not have to worry about getting sick from groceries bought at Checkers. At this point, the situation is serious enough that the Department of Health should inspect this branch to ensure food safety standards are being met. I expect a formal response and clear corrective action from Checkers regarding this matter.

The rudeness we exiprienced from kgomotso. How she was javing a smug and laughed in our faces for requesting a solution. All they did is call other employees then they spoke over us . Frustrating. Not only was the order late but was made to feel small fr requiring a solution. Her name is Kgomotso

Price controller
Checkers brentwood. I have been shopping @ pnp previously it's now checkers I shop here daily and have been monitoring prices on items of interest to me it's is absolutely a **** checkers is running as the now are in monopoly today a price states buy 2 for R32 in 2 days time the same items is on special again this time buy 2 for R34 .Shocker. Futher to this daily on items we purchase goes up everyday .How is this possible surely your suppliers are not increasing prices daily Your suplliers have contracts with you and increases are only in at certain intervals .Pick n Pay was doing the same thing we approached them and the answer was we can put up or drop prices as we feel and what's happening to them now.Checkers beware we monitoring you .
