A Big Thank You to BMW Midrand for Helping Me Keep My Hard-Earned Money! Yesterday afternoon after work, I visited BMW Midrand to view a pre-owned BMW 420d advertised online for approximately R969,000. I also took along my nearly brand-new 2026 Suzuki Swift, with less than 500km on the clock, for a trade-in valuation. Upon arrival, I was greeted professionally enough by a salesperson, and I explained that I am debt-free and wanted to approach any potential purchase responsibly, without taking on excessive debt. The first issue arose when I viewed the 420d and discovered that the mileage was significantly higher than what had been advertised online. While my vehicle was being evaluated, I kept an eye on it from inside the dealership. I noticed three staff members, including the salesperson assisting me, gathered around my vehicle. What concerned me was the manner in which my car appeared to be handled - doors being opened and shut carelessly, accompanied by laughing and what I perceived as mocking behaviour. Considering the vehicle is practically brand new, I found this highly unprofessional and disrespectful. After waiting for the valuation outcome, I was offered R180,000 for a vehicle that retails for approximately R249,000 and is only a few weeks old. Naturally, I declined. I simply responded that accepting such an offer would be financially irresponsible and thanked the salesperson for his time before leaving. I have owned many vehicles over the years, ranging from entry-level to premium brands, but I can honestly say this was one of the poorest dealership experiences I have encountered. What disappointed me most was not even the low trade-in offer, dealerships are entitled to make offers based on their business models. It was the overall customer experience: the inaccurate vehicle adverti*****t, the apparent lack of respect shown toward my vehicle, and the general conduct during the process. Ironically, I walked into BMW Midrand prepared to seriously consider signing a finance deal, but I left feeling genuinely relieved that I did not spend my hard-earned money there. Luxury is not only about the badge on the car - it is also about professionalism, transparency, and how customers are treated. Unfortunately, there was nothing luxurious about my experience at BMW Midrand. So, thank you BMW Midrand, you helped me keep my money, which will now be going straight into my investment portfolio instead.

I drive a BMW X3 20D, 2022 model. I am at 77,000km and the vehicle's App has consistently given me one failure/ warning message which requires fixing. The message is Failure risk of the starter battery. This message started appearing 2 months ago and I have taken the vehicle to the dealership thrice now. A first they recharged the battery and said message will disappear on its own. It didnt. I travel a lot so I took it back, again they purported to have resolved the issue. The message remained. Third time, the message still remained. I asked why they are not replacing the battery as indicated by their App, answer I get is wishy-washy. My question is, why cant they replace the battery as needed by the car/ App?? Why are they fighting and defying their own App?? Are they waiting for me to have a breakdown on the road (as the App enumerates so many risks pending due to this, and I am already experiencing some!). Are they waiting for the car to be out of motorplan and then ask me to replace battery? for I am now beginning to think this is it. Right now the message is on App, warning me. God knows what else I am damaging on the car by leaving it with this condition, which they know know would need replacement soon after motorplan! This is so so unfair.

I took my car for service and Andries Mfolo was my service consultant and he is the best. He’s very friendly, polite and professional. He kept me up to date throughout the day. I’ve had bad experiences with other service consultants at BMW Midrand but Andries has changed my mind about BMW Midrand

The dealership's reliability and trustworthiness are severely lacking. I experienced appallingly poor and disappointing customer service. My vehicle encountered a system power error, and the service department merely cleared the error code without effectively addressing the issue. Shockingly, they neglected to document their actions in the service log. On a subsequent visit for the same problem, my vehicle was carelessly left exposed to a hailstorm! The dealership delayed informing me of the resulting damages. Despite raising concerns with both the service advisor and the customer relations manager, they declined to take responsibility or involve the dealer principal. The lack of professionalism and accountability that I was met with raises concerns about their treatment of customers and their vehicles. I've decided to move on from this dealership. If you value your vehicle, proceed with caution at this dealership.

Recently, I acquired a new vehicle from BMW Midrand, where Reece Melville served as the Sales Executive who assisted me throughout the process. From our initial encounter, Reece's professionalism, profound expertise and dedication to delivering an authentic BMW experience exceeded my expectations. Having purchased numerous vehicles from various dealerships across South Africa over the years, I can confidently attest that Reece ranks among the finest Sales Executives I've had the pleasure of dealing with.
