I’m very grateful to Blissful births for such an amazing birthing experience. The way everyone operates there. You’d swear they are God sent. They are very patient, loving, caring, informative and knowledgeable. I honestly appreciate everything that the people there did for me. For a person who had a miscarriage before. I remember panicking on my 34 weeks when I had headaches for days and my high blood was high when I went to test to the nearest clinic. I remember being called to come to the birthing centre and I was welcomed with hugs and kisses. You know when the body receives such love from professionals, it automatically calms down. My high blood decreased and I was given ways to deal with the headache. On top of that myself and my husband were given cup cakes. I can’t thank the birthing centre enough for the day of my delivery. The way my body was not cooperating. I was almost a transferred case. However we exercised the baby out. They helped me with inducing labour naturally as I was overdue and OMG! There’s a lady that came in (one of the midwives) I forgot her name and she asked for us to pray. That was a blessed moment for me cause after us praying it was time to push and it didn’t even take more than 5 minutes. Thank you to everyone from Blissful births. You guys are heaven sent. A special thank you to Maggie, Maria and the special spiritual midwife who was sent to my rescue by God. I cannot forget the doulas. Thank you for always being a phone call away and thanks to doula Chifu for every step that she dedicated to my labour journey. Thanks to Sir Maggie for feeding me before my active labour and for her guiding us on the healthiest meals and drinks to buy for labour. Blissful births deserve an award. You guys are doing God’s work!

The experience during pregnancy was good, they care for patients even though the check up is just checking blood pressure and baby’s heart beat and done. The birthing experience was also not bad , although at some point I felt they were getting tired of me as my labour took longer. The issue was after giving birth, my baby had jaundice, which I noticed it 2 days after baby was born, meaning he already had it after birth. The baby was not thoroughly checked, this makes me upset because it put my baby’s wellbeing in danger, the bilirubin was so high when we went to a public hospital that it was not readable, a blood exchange had to be done. Had the baby been properly checked, we would have avoided the baby being in high care and the distress this caused me while I was in pain and discomfort from stiches. Another issue was having a run around looking for anti D injection myself after giving birth, which was a struggle, while checking for it, I was asked why I was not given the injection at the hospital (at this case being blissful birth). It was very embarrassing having to explain something that I also have no knowledge of, I was just told ‘go look for anti D and have it injected’. Luckily I managed to find it at a pharmacy which also they asked why it was not administered where I gave birth, another embarrassing moment. The baby was also not given injection after birth, when we went to hospital because of the jaundice, I was also asked why the baby was not injected, yet another embarrassing moment of not knowing how to answer for this, I had to go to a local clinic maternity ward to get the baby injected, as when I tried to arrange for an injection at blissful birth, they told about stock not being opened. Sometimes the best option is government, rather save your money and use it for postpartum than paying lot of money only to be experience such after having a baby. To this day no one at blissful birth has checked how baby is doing, if he was discharged, which gave me the impression that they only care about money, once you give birth they no longer care.
