My experience with Basson’s Auto over the last seven months has been an absolute nightmare. The level of incompetence displayed during the initial evaluation of my bakkie was staggering; they replaced the intercooler but completely failed to diagnose the actual turbo damage, leading to a protracted saga that has dragged on for 8 months. To make matters worse, they subcontracted work to an ************* 3rd party—a service I was forced to pay for out of my own pocket—who provided a predatory quote. I was quoted R96,000 for a turbo replacement, a figure that ended up being just R15,000 when handled correctly. The fact that they would even involve such a party and present that kind of pricing is deeply concerning. On top of the technical failures, the communication has been abysmal and riddled with false promises. They initially promised to deliver the bakkie back to me, only to backtrack later and demand I either fetch it myself or pay an additional towing fee. Between the missed diagnoses, the suspicious 3rd-party quotes, and the broken logistical promises, this has been the worst automotive experience I’ve ever had. If you want your vehicle fixed correctly, fairly, and professionally, stay far away from this workshop.
