This is absolutely unacceptable. My family and I proceeded to board our flight on the 07 March 2020 and was informed that the airline and specifically Nathasha canceled all our tickets.
Nathasha the employee of air Seychelles could not comprehend the email or English . The email dated 28 February 2020 was sent to her as follows:
“I am enquiring on the above ticket reference VRINNH. The traveller, Mr PK Maharaj, is unable to travel and therefore will not be using his ticket, 0 6 1210 12270 24 due to unforeseen circumstances. Is there any possible way to get a refund on this ticket or an alternate way to have this ticket not forfeited? I urgently look forward to your favourable response. Kind regards, “
Upon our arrival at Mumbai no one at the Air Seychelles desk that could have assisted us.
The Air Seychelles employees at the Mumbai Airport's service was disgusting.
When we could not board our flight and I showed Arfat Khan the email sent to Nathasha he said there was nothing he could do and we must purchase another ticket. I requested assistance from him to purchase a ticket however he could not assist claiming that he does not have access to book tickets.
Arfat then sent another employee from Seychelles after I requested him to help me. I asked him on numerous occasions and no one at all assisted myself through this stressful time.
Arfat then suggested that we go online to book and we did so on my cell phone however your website was not accepting my South African Visa Credit Cards and again I pleaded for help from Arfat however he just sat there and said that there is nothing he can do to assist and it was not his fault.
Our Hotel then assisted us to book another ticket to get on the same flight and before the hotel could confirm the booking we asked Arfat to check if myself and my family members names reflected on the system and that all is correct.
Arfat then proceeded to check that we were now reflecting to get onto the same flight which you cancelled. Arfat confirmed that our names are now reflecting on the flight and all is correct and our Hotel can confirm our booking.
When we proceeded to get the boarding pass at the Air Seychelles counter and Neha advised me that only N Maharaj, A maharaj and DM Misra can board the flight as P Maharaj's name was spelt incorrectly. Arfat was requested by myself to check if all our information was correct and he advised that it was all in order. He failed to do his job properly despite all the stress and trauma your airline has put us through.
P Maharaj then could not board our flight and Arfat requested that we cancel our flights and book again and during this whole time no employee of Air Seychelles assisted but they all just stood there and watched us stressed out of our minds.
We then went back to book another ticket for P Maharaj due to your employees negligence and by that point we could not book another ticket as it was two hours before the flight. I could not understand why we could not book another ticket for P Maharaj as your flights were delayed and we were only to board the flight at 07:10 when our flight was to take off at 05:30 am.
Under all this extreme stress we then managed to get P Maharaj on an Emirates flight. P Maharaj was traumatized, stressed and was scared as she has never taken an international flight before in her life. You placed her in such a circumstance that she was shaking and now will never take an international flight again as she was abandoned in a country that she is not from and no one from your Airline cared.
Please note that this lack of customer service is unacceptable and I will be sure to publicise this traumatic experience and the lack of service and assistance from your staff members at Air Seychelles.
All the tickets re-booked due to your negligence which totals to the sum of 173931-00 Indian Rupees.
We are requesting that we be refunded the full amount which was paid for the new tickets which was booked failing which legal action will be taken.
Further to the above, place your self in my family’s shoes . I have an 80 year old granny who cannot walk properly and no one at all at this airport for Seychelles.
