We were gifted a weekend away at Aasvoelkrans. We had no expectations of what the resort was like. Right from the start, you could feel that this resort is badly managed and has a very poor maintenance program. The staff working at security, the cleaners and the restaurant waiters don't have uniforms, so you don't know who is who in the resort. They are also not very friendly, willing to help. When staff are not busy, they are sitting around the resort on their phones, and some smoking (including the restaurant - they're sititng on the steps outside waiting for customers on their phones). There is no visual feel of any Management on site. There is a potent smell that wafts through the resort from the meat that is fed to the wild cats. There was a strong stagnant/sewerage/garbage smell coming from near the restaurant where we were staying. The Jacuzzis are all out of order, locked with old leaves and filth all around them. The hot pool was working well, but the cold pool next to it is leaking and smells off, like old miff water. You have to pay for the kids to use the supertube, something that should be included in your resort fees when booking with them? The "farmyard" where the ostriches are looks like a s****yard with items just thrown all over. There is danger tape wrapped around the trees. Walking up towards the staff quarters looks like you're walking into a metal s****yard too. ******* everywhere! It was just an all-round unpleasant stay. I feel sorry for those cats that are brought in as a "tourist attractions" and you can feel they are struggling to maintain the place just to keep the cats and other caged animals going. It felt more like a zoo, than a special wild cat sanctuary. Our accommodation was fair. The unit was clean, which we were grateful for. However, we are asked to do our own dishes but not provided with any dishwashing soap. We also were only given 1 toilet roll for a family of 4 for the whole weekend. I will never go back unless things drastically change. It's very sad to see a resort in such a poor state.

This was my first visit to Asvoelkraans holiday resort for a week of camping but due to the staff asking us to move our tent in order for another family to set up their camp we were placed in front of our braaier thus causing us not being able to use our braai. The family that was pushed in next to us was a family of 13 people and 1 stand only allowing 4 people and 1 car they were cramped all these people into 2 stands cause chaos, them tripping over our tent breaking our tent and all this caused us to pack up 2 days before time and then when u ask for a refund as we lost out on our holiday which we paid for in full.. all the owner and managers tell u is ITS NOT THEIR PROBLEM

I feel like people who own the resort are ******s. It starts from making a booking if you are not Afrikaans they will give you a run around to make a reservation. They impose their language on you. This is South Africa we have 12 official languages and English is considered a business language. If they want their own people only they should make a disclaimer so we should not even bother.

We had a lovely time had a lot of fun by the predator park and putt putt we swimmed a lot the pools was in great condition and the bathrooms as well we had a really nice camping spot big enough to fit our tent and another one plus our car we were close to everything and could hear the lions at night The curio shop could use a bit more attention when it comes to gifts but the service and feeding was great The young staff at the shop across the reception that works on a Friday was really not friendly at all and if you ask something they just look at you. Not all the waiters at the restaurant was bad but some of them really has an attitude and just leaves the customers waiting for an answer and just go inside and sit on their phone doesn't even greet customers coming in to bring menus. Very unhappy with the service at the restaurant food was great and drinks but the service is really **** there's no management to ask for help.

Wish I could give less than 1 star. Don't waste your money or time at this resort. You pay to have electricity at the camp site, but there's no power. Ps, they have generators but refuse to use them to save diesel. Because of the power that's off, the only warm water swimming pool is cold, the super tube is not working and the predator tour is a complete waste of time and money. There is no water to shower or even flush the toilets, or do dishes. The only positive words I have regarding this resort is the security and one office lady- Elsie! They are tops! We had a very bad experience.

Dear AasvoelKrans I wanted to take a moment to share some feedback regarding our recent stay. Overall, we had a wonderful time and the children especially enjoyed the swimming facilities. The animal park was also a highlight for them, and they had a great experience there. However, I would like to bring to your attention an issue we encountered during our stay. We experienced some disturbances late at night, particularly from loud, drunken and disruptive guests near our tent. It would be greatly appreciated if this could be addressed, as the noise affected the overall comfort and enjoyment of the stay. Given the presence of security personnel on-site, I believe it should be manageable to ensure that such disturbances are minimized. Despite this, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the campsite and appreciate the excellent facilities provided. Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to visiting again in the future. Best regards,
